A elite, hoje, somos nós. Não me refiro aos novos ricos do PT, aos que aumentaram o patrimônio ou ganharam carros importados de empresários "amigos".
Refiro-me à elite governante, responsável por democratizar a relação do Estado com a população, por construir o país por meio de concorrências públicas limpas, por gerir o dinheiro do povo em nome dos interesses do povo.
Essa elite tem o dever de tomar o pulso da situação. Punir responsáveis. Pedir desculpas à sociedade. Modificar radicalmente a estrutura burocrática e de poder dentro do partido, como pretende o atual presidente Tarso Genro.
Há uma enorme diferença simbólica quanto aos efeitos sobre o tecido social entre os crimes políticos e os crimes comuns. Quando a elite governante não respeita a lei que ela própria representa, a desmoralização que se instaura corrompe a sociedade inteira.

Este movimento de indignação nacional está me apavorando, sabia?
Pois é, tem spam na parada, Edu! Mas olhe, sobre essa indignação toda, acho que o momento, pelo caos que gerou, com todas as forças políticas - da "nova esquerda" à direita - em ação e tudo o mais, pode ser um momento que gere alguma lucidez. Estamos todos perplexos e buscando razões, explicações... e no fundo tudo é tão claro e evidente: a velha e conhecida desigualdade, tão conhecida que já foi naturalizada e se tornou invisível. Vivemos num país, onde Estado é sinômino de estatal, espaço público é sinônimo de apropriação particular das normas e a eleição do Lula simbolizou, pela primeira vez, a idéia de poder mexer nesse paradigma. Foi uma oportudade histórica que escapou e é difícil ser testemunha de um governo sucumbindo à doença que supostamente deveria ter erradicado. Mas, o mais chato é ver aquela turma da geração niilista e cínica, aqueles que dizem o tempo todo: "o ser humano é assim mesmo", com ar triunfante e feliz. Esse tipo de gente, que não é necessariamente de direita ou reacionária, me assusta mais do que os perplexos indignados.
